Regular Poem: Dialect

6 Oct

Speak to me in your dialect, darling.
Let me
which vowels you lengthen
and which
consonants you drop.

Speak to me in your dialect, darling.
I will listen
to the cadence of
your syllables and
analyze your

Teach me your dialect, my darling.
I want
to learn
your colloquialisms
and understand
your idioms.

Speak to me,
and I will listen
and learn
all that your words say
and don’t say.

Nice! As a ‘child of the south’, my dialect (long, drawn-out drawl) is a force to be reckoned with, but can be learned by others with much practice :). However…if I ever decide to make a video of any sort, I will definitely need a voice over, haha! I enjoyed your post!

Thanks! And I’m sure you don’t need to be dubbed. There are plenty of people like me who love different dialects!
